Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was born the only girl from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life in the company of four brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that she began modeling. After moving from New York City and gaining experience with commercials and commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. When she was a teenager her first appearance as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing in many films, TV movies, and dramas. Similar to her profession however, her private life has not been happy or successful. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and has had two failed marriages. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
